Workers’ compensation attorneys will typically charge their clients on a contingency fee basis. This means that if you lose your case, your attorney will not receive any compensation. On the other hand, if you win your case, your attorney will be entitled to a percentage of your workers’ compensation benefits or settlements. In California, for example, the workers’ compensation board authorizes a fee of 10%, 12%, or 15%, according to the complexity of the case. Most other states, however, allow attorneys to charge a fee of up to 25%. #KJTLaw
